DPEE Official syllabus,MCQs,Pattern & How to Pass (PCI Latest)

What is the D. Pharm Exit Exam?

The D. Pharm Exit Exam (DPEE) is a licensure examination introduced by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Previously, students could register as pharmacists with their State Pharmacy Council immediately after passing their 2-year D. Pharm course. However, under the new “Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination Regulations, 2022,” candidates must now pass this exit exam to be eligible for registration.

Who is Eligible for the DPEE?

You are eligible to sit for the D. Pharm Exit Exam if:

  1. You have passed the D. Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
  2. You have completed the required practical training (500 hours) as per the Education Regulations.

Note: This applies to students who have passed their D. Pharm course after the implementation of these new regulations.

D. Pharm Exit Exam Pattern (Paper Format)

Understanding the pattern is crucial for preparation. According to the PCI regulations:

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will likely be Computer Based (CBT).
  • Language: English.
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Number of Papers: There will be three papers.
  • Duration: 3 hours for each paper.

The Passing Criteria

This is the most important part. To pass the DPEE, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in each paper separately.

You must pass all three papers in the same attempt. If you pass two papers but fail one, you will have to appear for all three papers again in the next attempt. However, there is no restriction on the number of attempts.
