- Pharmacy Officer (Level-7): Candidates must possess a Diploma (D.Pharm) or Degree (B.Pharm) in Pharmacy from a PCI-recognized institution and hold a valid registration with their State Pharmacy Council.
- Drug Information Pharmacy Officer (Level-8): A specialized entry post.Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and a valid State Council registration.
- Clinical Pharmacy Officer (Level-8): Another specialized entry post.Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and a valid registration.
B. Promotional Posts (100% Promotion)
- Senior Pharmacy Officer (Level-8): 100% promotion on a seniority basis from confirmed members who have completed at least 7 years of continuous service as a Pharmacy Officer.
- Assistant Chief Pharmacy Officer (Level-9): Promoted from the cadre of Senior Pharmacy Officers,Drug Information Officers,or Clinical Pharmacy Officers after completing at least 5 years of service.
- Chief Pharmacy Officer (Level-10): Promoted from Level-9.Degree holders need a minimum of 3 years of service,while Diploma holders require 5 years.
- District Pharmacy Officer / Deputy Director (Level-11): Requires a minimum of 2 years of service as a Chief Pharmacy Officer,and the candidate must possess a Degree in Pharmacy.
- Joint Director (Pharmacy) (Level-12): The highest administrative post.Filled via promotion from confirmed members who have rendered at least 1 year of service as a Deputy Director.
3. Expanded Job Responsibilities
The regulations push the role of a pharmacist far beyond medicine dispensing.The document outlines deep clinical and administrative responsibilities:
- Clinical Pharmacy Officers: Tasked with collaborating directly with physicians,evaluating medication orders,checking laboratory data to recommend dosage modifications,managing sterile mixing,and screening for adverse reactions.
